Can someone help me reset the password on my Samsung CLP-300N Color Laser Printer? This is a network printer, and like most network devices, the administrator can set a password so that only the admin can change the settings. Ive set a password on this printer, and have since forgotten what the password is. Most network devices have a button you can push or a procedure by which the device can be reset to its factory default settings, but it appears that this Samsung printer may not have such a fuction. When I called Samsung two weeks ago, the technician I worked with was very friendly and we tried a number of things to try to reset the password. All failed to work. The technician suggested I try a local service center. I contacted a service center in my area, and the local technician did a little research into the problem. He later had to speak with Samsung as well, and set up a tracking number for the issue. He instructed me to call Samsung, give them the tracking number, and a technician should be able to help me. Well when I called, a front line rep (not a technician) kept me on the line and acted as a go between for me and a technician she was speaking to. According to the rep, the technician said that the printer wasnt capable of having a password set, and that I should contact Microsoft. I informed her that the printer does indeed accept a password as I set it myself. I asked if she would transfer me to the technician, but she refused. I few choice words later, I hung up on the technician. This video demonstrates that the Samsung CLP-300N printer is indeed capable of having a password. Anyone out there know how to reset the password on this machine? Its beginning to look like its impossible - which is a warning to anyone considering purchasing this printer. If you think you might forget the password, then you should seriously consider avoiding the Samsung CLP-300N printer.
