My Vostro has a lot of static noise - feedback from the HD? - when using headphones. I thought this was bearable, but then I tried recording via the mic jack and discovered the static was also being picked up when recording too, and not only that, it was much louder. Lastly, I tried the mic jack monitor, and that was utterly unbearable. The static was literally drowning everything else out.
