1) Good choice for a PCIe single GigE: I purchased two of these card. One for a 2U machine and one for my trusty ol" tower FreeNAS machine. Pleasantly surprised by the "plug it into the PCIe 1x slot on my tower and FreeNAS just worked with it" install. I was a little disappointed with the lack of a reduced height aka Low Profile bracket when trying to put it in the 2U. I will need to find out if the non-bulk version of this card has the Low Profile bracket. I purchased the bulk version since neither of the machine are running Microsoft Windows, I didn"t need the resource wasting CD and manual.
2) Works well. Good price.: Drops into Linux just fine, using the e1000 driver. No complaints.
